I've been riding my KLX on the street using motocross style turning, as opposed to road racer style turning. The bike and me are much more comfy at speed in the turns. I don't stick my inside leg out, unless I'm in the dirt where I might lose traction.

 

I like to stick my leg out and push the bike underneath me, if you go knee out on the bike you can upset the geometry and the bike starts to buck underneath you. Not fun haha
