Default New Old Guy

Made a deal on a 2006 KLX250S and will be picking it up tomorrow evening. The test ride on it sold me, that and the seemingly bottomless pit of farkles you can adhere to it.

This is a bit of a change in riding styles and a downsize in mass after selling my Buell Ulysses. Sorry to see the Uly go, but it just wouldn't take me where I wanted to go and I'm not really interested in touring down the highway.

Pix and mods will follow as I adjust to the new ride.

Welcome to the site. There are alot of people here that are always willing to help you. Right now I'm in the question asking stage of getting a big bore 351. It usually does not take very long to get a response to any question you may have. Again, welcome!

So...just how old a geezer are you, SnrMoment? Do we need to find a 3-wheeler conversion for your KLX or what?...LOL!

A little like your situation coming from the Buell, I had been riding KLR650's for decades and dualsporting with them in the western U.S. Finally as old age and senility started gaining ground on me, going to the KLX was like another world. I've owned and raced some really great and competent off road racing bikes over the years for enduro racing and just fun singletrack enjoyment. However, the dualsport trips have become my biggest enjoyment, and the KLX has allowed me to ride something more akin to an honest-to-gosh dirt bike without being a tempermental racing bike with a plate. I think you're gonna have fun.

Congrats on the new bike, You're going to have fun with it. All the info you could want here on the board, to help you tinker with it.
Dan

TNC is old enough that he can hide his own Easter eggs and then turn right around and try to find them....

66.

I'll be OTD in a few minutes to go pick it up. Once back home, I'll be getting it ready for about 1,000 miles of dirt/gravel/mountain roads & trails starting later next week HERE and HERE.

Plus, there are two more trips planned after those rides. The KLX has 2,600 miles on it now. That's gonna change a bit.
