The side plates don't fit over the battery, or at least at last check they didn't.

 

[sm=exactly.gif] The klx300 right side number plate fits, but the klx300 doesnt have a battery so the leftside doesnt fit...

 

Josh, I don't have the rack mounted on the mx fender that I am running, but even with cutting the extra subframe off all of the mounts for the rack are still there. You will only need to cut some clearance holes in the fender for the side bolts of the rack to fit(and this is very slight), and I think the two holes in the top. If you use the baja design tail light the two holes that you have to make in the top of the fender for the rack are in the same place that you mount the tail light. I belive that Patrick was running the mx fender with the rack on, maybe Eric could round up a pic of it for you.

 

What do you guys suggest for removing the license plate holder while retaining the stock stop light? I'm thinking I want a Dual-Star fast blink LED there but, I really want to get rid of that monstrosity the license plate is attached to.

I have posted about it before, but I am going to try and check into a Li Ion battery for the bike. What hasto be done to the electrical for it. Maby I can get one small enough to relocate, then I can explain and hopefully you all can benefit from my work.. Should drop some weight with a lighter battery as well. Thenn, I could fit that black plastic! Unless it's already been done, I wanna know about it?
What about pics of the cut subframe?

 

Sheeeeit, I was standing next to the bike and scoping it out for I don't know how long that weekend and I didn't even pay attention to the rack[sm=bustedsign.gif]

 

With a LiIon battery they are 3.7 volts per cell so you would have 11.1 with a 3 cell or 14.8 with a 4 cell and the charge current that the bike puts out varies, not good for LiIon. They want constant current constant voltage charge. Also they are not to be drained below 3 volts per cell, so if you ran it dead trying to start it on the trail, yer screwed because it ruins the cell. Not to burst your bubble, just want you to know what you are up against.

 

Yesss. But that's what voltage regulators, resistors, all that solid state electronic stuff is for.
