imo, they messed up the styling of the new '08 by whacking the side plate off and exposing too much of the muffler. it looks very bad to me. brian's bike is the way it should look with the new '08 tank on it, that is an improvement in looks to me anyways. but altering the side panel the way they did really ruins the look. this seems to be a trend in a few bikes, only question to me is why?

I like the looks imo, I like to see more mech. of the bike you can keep the plastics.

yeah, but where do you put the numbers if you race? I too like pretty metal, butthis is a dirt bike, not a ducati. jmo

Oh rats, did I miss some new forum rule? Everything I say is IMO unless I'm quoting some ultra-factual indisputable source like Wikipedia in which case it is well established incontravertible fact as we all know Wikipedia is.

Finger Mullet and Onestarr99 or anyone considering an EXC 450 or 525, here's some decent information on how they feel compared to some other bikes you may be familiar with. The decision of 525 or 450 is purely personal - both a great. I don't know if it will be the case with the 08's, but with the 07's you can turn a 450 into the 525 (or 540) by simply swapping the piston and cylinder. The 08 450 may have a shorter stroke than the 08 525, so I'm not 100% sure that will apply to the new model year.

Thanks Nobrakes, Their is some good info over at Thumper Talkon the KTM's. If I decide to get the new KTM it will be the 450. The 450 has more than enough power.
