i;m righth there with you on the ktm the 350 is an amazing bike but for a sum of 8.8 lbs more i may go with the 500 and thats only seting it to 250.2lbs! way less than the klx and its a good deal more power for not much more cash

I've already put a new plug in when I did the oil change.
I don't know how I missed it when I did my research concerning the hiccup, but here is the ground mod done on my bike 30 minutes ago.
There's still a lot of parts to be bought for the bike, including a skid plate, some hand guards, a bigger tank and a rear rack just to name a few.
I'll try the bike tomorrow if I can find some time and report back to give you updates about the ground mod.

That's it in the picture. The long ground lead off the rectifier/regulator gets shortened and tied to the motor as shown. Here's the thread. You can either cut the wire and put a ring terminal on it or solder another wire to the existing female quick disconnect to leave the factory wiring intact.

Will probably just kill the battery before that happens. Plenty of people have done the mod "backwards" and cut the wire and ground the wrong end. Bike will run for a while and die as the battery isn't being charged.

haha yup. i learned this the hard way... in the Everglades. i regrounded again while being swarmed by mosquitoes, extremely fun!!!
