Another KLR650/KLX250 dual owner. The KLR can actually do just about everything. Even sand, if you practice a bit. It's a heck of a bike if you upgrade the suspension...hard to believe, I know, but, it can climb hills that sometimes my KLX has trouble making, because my KLX upgraded suspension isn't as effective as my KLR's upgrade. It's all about the suspension, traction, and power. If I had to have just one bike, it would be the KLR.

That said, I have a road bike, and need to trim the herd by one, so, it looks like I'll soon be without a KLR for the first time since I began riding dual sports again several years ago. I know the guy that will be buying my KLR, and it's set up perfectly for him, and he'll be appreciative...and will probably let me ride it when I come to town for a visit in the future. I'm happy for him!

Thanks for all the help
Don't know what to say about the choke lever. Isn't it held in place with some plastic nut device? Maybe that's the holder. I really don't know, and don't recall anyone ever posting the same issue before. Is the nut loose?

There's a lot of methods for opening up the airbox. Swiss Cheese is one of them. If you want to try something, put duct tape over some or all of the holes. This would likely make it run a little richer, and maybe quieter from less air-box noise. Some run with the air box lid off (I used to, but am trying the larger KDX snorkel now).
