Be very carefull of 09KLXowner. He claims to know everything but knows little. Changes his mind and bikes on a whim and is disliked by almost everybody on this forum and he is the only one that doesn't know why.......
He is on his 2nd screen name and i am not sure why he hasn't changed it again. This way he can polute the newbes with his trash and they can't look at his past jiberish.

Sorry a new guys post got hijacked. Guys in here aint all that bad, but Iowa Guy, AKA 09KLXowner just has a knack for firing up everyone.
Welcome to the board, I hope you get the results your looking for.
I bought an 07 leftover, and within a week I put a 13t sprocket on it, it really helped. Then took the snorkel out and put in a K&N filter, made a world of difference in the way it revs. I resisted jetting the carb for now, but I scored a 2bros exhaust and over the winter will take the time to tear it down, install the new muff, and re-jet, as well as all the other mods. I think it will feel like a new bike.
I have read a lot about lowering links, If your a haul a$$, on the edge rider, they might effect the handling but if your not, go for it. Also consider putting some new springs in it, these bikes are designed for someone in the 160-175lb range.

Snorkle generously drilled.
Air Filter generously drilled with aux filter medium in place. (pending K+N)
Exhaust, Drilled center and around center. (pending aftermarket ehaust)
To Do list:
13 tooth front sprock.
Carb rejet kit.
Silverstar light.
Free flow exhaust
punch crank breather
Vortex 1/4 turn throtle
Cali smog dump
Posabilities. (maybe outside the box but, that's me.
Auxilary lights ( any ideas?)
New HP plug. Possibly Sonic, Halo, E3, Splitfire. (still wading through the hype but the HAS to be a better plug.)
High energy ignition coil + wire
fishing gear carrier tube ?????
Since I'm offering up my Visa card in sacrifice, where is the best place to get MOST of this stuff on one order and the most bang for my buck ??
