Thanks guys, i dont ever remember seeing a post on grips installation... good post for others future installation.

 

Ive always used windex and a long flat headed screwdriver for removal.for the install I put a little windex on my finger and rub it around in the inside of the grip,if you use to much it will never dry

 

I take grips on & off with an air compressor too. Has always worked. They slide on easy with it too with no lube.

 

Then would a volleyball needle on your air line work in this situation? Or not enough air to work from the needle?

edit: I need to try this sometime.

 

A ball needle won't cut it. I use a rubber tipped air nozzle and when you get it started you have to blast air in and grip around it and work the nozzle in while pulling the grip off. When you get good at it, it will only take about 10-15 seconds to pull them off. As KLXer said it's great to put them on also. I saw the show on grip installation that EMS was talking about but he didn't go into the air nozzle technique very well. I learned it from a buddy that worked at a motorcycle shop and they used air to removeand installed them and they didn't use glue. Just clean the bar off real good and install with air and it sticks good.

That is a pic (not mine) of basically how to do it & what kind of nozzle I use. When putting them on just start it, put the air in then push the very end of the grip with your palm. Root around that site & it will give a little, but not much, more explanation.

+1 on that, only I use the small tubes of grip glue for the 'dabbing'
