I have put on grips twice. First you cut and remove all residew from the bar but in your case you will not have to do this. Second you use glue, put it on the bar then a little on the outside of the grip and then slide the grip on place where you want the grips to go. then you put thin wire onto the front of the grips so that they stay still over night. and the next time the grips will come off alot easier then gorrila glue. i have found this is the best way. when taking off the residew use poroxide it comes off better. advice for the future.

I think model glue is the same as grip glue, I didn't read every ingredient but I am willing to bet .25 cents that it is one in the same. The reason I bring it up is so you don't have to make a special trip to the bike store or order it.

I've had three different sets of grips on mine and never used glue and they've never budged after the first installation. I just used a little Windex on the bar and the grips slide on very easily. Let it dry overnight and you'r good to go for the next day. I'm not saying you shouldn't use glue, just that mine seem solid without it. If you are riding hard at the track or motocross where bad things could happen if your grip slips while banging over whoops or over triples, then I'd think glue might be good piece of mind.

I have never had to cut my grips off. I use an air compressor with a air nozzle and they just blast off. It takes a little work getting the technique down but when you do you won't believe who ease they come off. I use it to put them back on and you can getby without using glue just make sure the bar is really clean. I have brush guards on my bike so the grips can't slide off. If I didn't have them I would use glue to play it safe. You sure don't want a grip coming off when you are hauling a$$ in the dirt.

I am curious on this air compressor trick. How do you do that?
I have cut some grips off in the past, but not many. Normally they peel right off

Use a small tipped nozzle and slip it under the inner part of the grip, the end where your thumb would be. Then blast the air in under the grip and it will expand the grip away from the bar and at the same time you pull it off.

I haven't actually tried it, just saw it on a TV show. Seemed to work, though.
