1. slice off old grips
2. clean clip ons or bars with rubbing alcohol
3. apply grip glue to bars and inside new grip
4. quickly slid new grip into desired position on bars and give grip 1/2 twist to evenly spread glue
5. leave grips untouched over night
6. next day and everyday after wards ride

WELL I SAY FORGET THE GRIP GLUE, NEVER REALLY HAD LUCK WITH IT. I USE SPRAY PAINT . SPAY IT INTO THE GRIP, SLIDE IT ON AND POSITION IT . THEN LET IT DRY OVER NIGHT. NEVER HAD ONE COME LOSE YET!

when i installed my new grip son my renthals i used hair spray per my friends instructions......the problem i had was that the left side of the bar was gnurled... the gnurling didnt leave enough contact area for the hair spray to do its thing so i ended up takin it back off and using guerilla glue... im sure that the same problem would occur with spray paint...

@ratman... CAPSLOCK!!!

Haven't replaced grips in a while. I used to use lighter fluid and they slid on easily. Motocrossed the heck out of them and never had one come loose or twist. If you use glue then you need to put it on the throttle body only, if you put it on the grip and slid it on it will glue the throttle to the handle bar.

When I removed mine, the throttle grip came-off without having to cut it. The left side was another story. It was glued on so solidly I had to shave the rubber off with a razor knife. I used silicone rubber to glue my hot grips on. Seems to be holding really well.

A lot of people recommend using an air nozzle for removal if you have a compressor handy. I don't think that would have worked on my left grip though.

Well i dont have to worry abou the old grips or bars..... i got my new bars on, and got all the stuff mounted on it loosely, and my next step is the new grips on the new bars. So spray paint, lighter fluid, hairspray, grip glue, gorilla glue?!!! interesting...... The new grips are pretty tight, not sure if they will just slide on... even with a lubricant like glue....lol, lubricant first then its a glue... might try hairspray.... anyother ideas?

I have used the hair spray and had good results. Do not use contact cement or gorilla glue or you will be shaving your grips off later and making those nasty little burs and ruining them.

Renthal grip glue, its made for this and has worked for me just fine.

I used hair spray in the initial install, then lifted each side to place a one dab of superglue to help lock it.

Like Dean said left grip is a bear to get off, I have never used any glues or potions on my grips and they have never come loose or off
