New To The Forum
Hello Everyone
I am new to the forum and the Dual Sport Community. I am seeking some advice for my first motorcycle. I obviously decided on the KLX 250s but I have never purchased a bike before. Im sure that I am the 100th person to write this post but I was wondering if anyone could lead me in the right direction on what to look out for when purchasing a bike. I dont really know much about bikes but I understand the basics. I am interested in this 2006 KLX 250s that I found on Craigslist. Below I have attached a link. Any type of feedback our advice would be very much appreciated!!

Buy that bike ASAP. The 2006/07 is my favorite (look up 09+ to see the mostly cosmetic differences). The mods done are right on the money and probably about $1,000+ spent on them. The bike stock without the mods is probably worth $2K all day long (I haven't seen one on CL here at that price yet). Inspect it very carefully. Ask the seller to have it cold when you come over to hear it start. Find a friend that knows bikes to go with you. I paid $2,500 for my 06 with 3K miles about 3 years ago, and it was bone stock (came with a replacement front tire and a nice jacket). I'd buy it myself if it were in my town.
Don't give money without a title in the sellers name. Don't go for bill of sale only, and a title in a prior owners name may be problematic.
If you decide you don't like it, and provided you don't thrash it, you should be able to get your $2K or close to it back when you sell.
Do you know how to ride? Take a safety course!

Ya it sounds like a good deal, and the miles are low for an '06. Definitely ask him about the service intervals and what's been done. Will you be able to take it for a test ride? If not, maybe ask a friend to do it for you. But overall it sounds like a great 1st bike.
