Default New Bars installation problems

Has anyone had any trouble putting new bars on their bike? I put a set of pro taper SE bars on and I cannot got the handlebar switches back on right. Am I missing something? Also I had to cut the barpad off because the mounting bracket wouldn't fit with it on. I'm bummed. I thought it would be an easy job like it was on my KX125.

Look inside the switch housings where they contact the stock bars, the stock bars have a hole on each side. There is a nub that goes with the hole in the bars to prevent the switch housings from spinning on the bars.

Trim off that little nub and you should have no problem.

The second part of your question I don't quite understand. I put on a pair of pro taper universal fat bar mounts to install the 1 1/8" bars, as they certainly wouldn't fit the stock handle bar perches (which are for 7/8" handlebars).

Thank you for your help RaceGass. I don't know how you could put different bar mounts on without changing the top triple clamp cause the bottoom bar mount is built into the top triple clamp.

The mounting bracket would not fit with the barpad on so I took the bar pad off. I don't know if the barpad is supposed to fit on there real tight or not but I cut it with a utility knife and I'll have to fenagle it back on somehow. Cheers

Here is what I had to use to mount 1 1/8" bars.

How do you keep the switches from spinning around on the bars? The switch housing is the only thing that holds the throttle on! That's pretty lame of Kawasaki to basically try to force you to use their crappy steel OEM bars.

After grinding the nubs from inside the switch housing I easily replaced my crappy bent OEM bars with crappy 18$ aftermarket bars. The switches don't spin under normal riding but if ya crash it's good to have em move instead of braking off.
