New 2009 KLX Mods Question
Hey folks! I have to stop buying bikes, too many forums to keep track of...
Hey I bought the KLX for a specific reason, to be able to ride my girlfriend on-road, to an off-road location so she can practice riding. She did MSF and rides well, but is just too scared of practicing on the street. I know this is blasphemous to you hard-core KLX folks, but that's the deal.
However, I'm getting more excited about this little beast, and I am really enjoying riding it around town, and popping off road here and there. I'll never do hard-core off road with it, (have a WR-450 for that), so the only mods I really want are to let the engine run to it's potential. Since there isn't a separate MOD section, I thought I'd just ask for some suggestions, or links to other threads that would help. Pipe or slip-on/Jet Kit really all that's required, or does it need a little more to wake up?
Thanks in advance
Ted

Hey Ted, lets see a picture of her,.............and the bike too.
The bike is great for a lot of people. Nothing wrong with leaving it stock for some, but it has some nice potential if you want to do more. Slip on, snorkle pulled out , new hi flow air filter, re-jet, and a 13tooth front sprocket will help. When I did all that I still didn't see a night and day difference. Don't get me wrong it definitely helped, and I could feel a difference. The 351 big bore is the way the bike should come from the factory. I love it. Great power, but not overwhelming, and not a wr-450, I think it's perfect.
Good luck .
Tons of info on here to be searched.
