Here's the ad:

The pictures depict a 2006 and a 2007. What year is it that you have for sale and why do you have pictures of two different bikes on your ad? Man......... the 2006 KLX is just friggin sweet from every angle.

It's an '07. The first picture is just a sweet pic . To each their own, but I can't understand why someone would pay $4,700 for an '09, that looks like some kind of spaceship. Personally I like my dualsports to look like dirtbikes, and the '07 was the last year for that. The '09's are even almost impossible to find in the color green.

the bike period is hard to find. spaceship? hmmm, I don't think so. A bike that no longer has early '90's styling? yeah, for sure. You're just not used to it yet. In person it is a very sweet looking bike. Your year KLX is sweet and it's we're used to, but it needed updating terribly. Kawi addressed this and the whole pkg. is fresh and looks extremely tough and up to date imo.

I hear what your saying, we are used to the old school look. But Lifan has been making a bike that looks close to the new '09 KLX for quite some time, and yes it comes in the same color - RED. I think Kawasaki is taking some styling queues from Lifan.

LMAO- the only thing the new KLX has in common with that pos is the colors. If you think the two bikes resemble each other, you evidently don't know much about bikes. I had a honda express when I was younger that was more stout than that thing looks to be. You do know there is a classifieds section to showcase your products other than to use the discussion forums right? I kind of see where you're going with your post. Your price is too high and if you want to sell, you're obviously going to have to come down, that's the simple truth of the matter. BTW- that bike looks nothing like the KLX, old or new KLX. Maybe a KLR a tiny bit. I bet I could bend the fork legs over my knee.

I haven't seen a '09 yet in person, but the klx in Red looks more like the Lifan, than the 06-07 KLX. I know there is a classifieds section, but not specific to the KLX250. I know I spent a lot of time reading these forums before I bought one, and would have loved the chance to save a $1,000 and get a bike that was in this condition. Those of you that bought yours new from your local dealer for only $4,200 out the door are lucky! The rest of us probably paid something closer to MSRP, I spent about $4,700, but then we only have one bike dealer in town, so there's no competition. For others that have the same issue, this is a steal.

RE: New '07
so I have to ask- why was it bad that I spent $4700 on a brand new 2009 KLX when you spent the same on a 2007 (circa 1994)that you now want to sell? Isn't that a little contradictory and hypocritical? [&:]

RE: New '07
I certainly didn't say it was BAD, just that I don't quite understand the '09 design. I'm an old school biker and ex-motocrosser, and Kawasaki's (particularly offroad) are supposed to be green. I do hope the best for them as it sounds like they've made some good improvements, but hopefully sales for them won't suffer due to their closer resemblance to a souped-up Lifan.
