Need your recommendation on EAR PLUGS
Hey, If you Big Gun EVOx owners would please tell me what brand of ear plugs you like best, I would appreciateany and allrecommendations. I finally got the parts from my dealer in Oregon, (after waiting for two weeks in the wonderful rain), and installed it here in Nevada. It's warmer and drier here!
At rest and idling, the muffler was impressive, with that deep throated resonance. Taking it for my initial test run was another story.... My full face modular 'hat' was an echo chamber that was just a bit over the top. I really couldn't take a 70 mile ride in the dirt trails that I enjoy on that loud puppy ....without ear plugs. [:@]
How about some suggestions on what to use to retain my hearing from you folks who have already solved this Big Gun EVOx deafening problem?
(Where is Iowa Guy when I need him for answers??)

I runan HMFbut...Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart all have a suprisingly good selection of ear plus. Since they are cheap (a couple bucks a pack) I would by several packs at several different noise level ratings and find out which ones fit your ear the best. The inside shape of everyones ear is different, and proper fit is the key to good ear protection. I have the white cylindrical ones from walgreens and they work great for me (remember to lick'em before you stickem' n your ear). I bought the lowest sound rating, but when I run out I will go ahead and buy something with a higher sound reduction number. Hope that helps. Also, try a local gun shop, I had a pair of smith and wesson ear plus that were excellent.

Hey, thanks fellows, 'preciate' the comments. I'll buy some ear plugs from Wally World for starters.I want to ask Bad Bear which insert he uses. I didn't order any thing extra for the Big Gun. ('Cept the Spark arrestor.)
Looking forward to keeping and liking the BG.[sm=gobble.gif]

I use to work in the power plants and It was loud In their!!The company supplied us with all kinds of ear protection and the ones I found to work the best was the foam type. Just squeeze them between your fingers, insert, and it will expandin your ear and your good to go! As fireroad mention above they can be had at Walgreens, CVS, walmart.

Howard Leight plugs are the best. I like the Max 33's.
Be careful with the cheap open cell foam cylinder types. They collect dirt. Even when new and clean they make my ear canals itch.

Hey there Jason,
Thanks for the come-back! I'm running with the stock configuration. Air box has not been modified...... yet.
What's your thought on the airbox concern?
