some options i was given:
  1. $150 ($45 for 1 tumbler and ~$100 for labor) to replace the tumbler (drill it out) and locksmith to reset the tumbler to match current key for about $25 to $30 extra...
  2. or...justgastanks.com and order a new ims, or buy a used one and replace the entire tank....

i went with option 2

I'm going to try to drill it out tomorrow, I'll go from there.

We hope you see the advice on the other thread. Pull the tank, drain it, rinse it, fill it with water, then drill. Or better yet take it to a locksmith after the drain and rinse. It's worth the money.
