Default Need help fixing a Clarke tank

Hello Guys,
I have the chance to buy a used black clark tank that leaks. I need any advise on repairing it. I called clarke and they say it has a 1 year warrantee but i have to provide a receipt of some sort. (told them i bought it used and they said that it is ok just need to get a receipt from the po) Black is not my color of choice but for $60 i can not pass it up as money is tight. Does anyone have a receipt that they don't need? or is their any better sealant than JB weld.

TIA

I thought the leaks encountered were fixed by new o-rings and fittings?....or has this one chaffed through the tank itself?...Anyhow, if you find something gas resistant that fixes cracked plastic....please let us know...I haven't found anything that's really good for plastic.

The tank is probably made of a plastic that is resistant to solvents. Plastic cements "glue" are actually solvents that temporarily melt the plastic allowing two pieces to meld together. Some plastics are resistant to all solvents and are not able to be repaired with a "glue" solvent. The tank may be made of polypropylene, and there is no chemical solvent that will mend it. The plastics on the KLX are made of polypropylene. When I broke my radiator shroud, I fixed it with a plastic welder. The plastic welder gently softens the plastic with heat and melts a plastic welding rod between the broken pieces. A plastic welder may be the best bet for repairing the tank. It might not be the prettiest repair but I think it would be the strongest. JB weld only covers the leak, and then you have to hope it stick to the plastic around the leak.
Here's a thread I did on the shroud repair. https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=26911

The tank is leaking where the brass fitting meets the plastic. Plastic welding is not an option. hopefully i can get Clark to step up as it is an known problem. I hope the JB weld fix will work as a last resort as i can't afford to waste $60

Has anyone actually fixed a tank w/ JB weld and is it permanent?

TIA

Save your money on the JB weld if money is tight. I guess trying it out isn't going to make it leak worse. I sincerely doubt anyone can fix that gas leak with JB weld.
