RE: need help deciding between klx and gsxr
If u are seriously considering a street bike over the KLX for the simple fact of doubling your girlfriend to work and stuff, then why are you looking at a sportbike?[sm=badidea.gif] For two-up comfort, I'd be looking more towards the cruisers, but that's just me. Two-up riding on either the KLX or a sportbike, just doesn't make sense. Neither were designed with that purpose in mind IMO.

With two people on the klx the "driving" postion is awkaward. Your legs are constantley hugging the tank. I find it a little difficult to handle with 2. Not too mention the suspension, it's already soft enough with just one person on it, the bike really sinks with two!.

Take a look at the KLR 650, you could still do some ds stuff, but the seat on the KLR is so sweet, and its really made for 2 up. Oh and bonus its a Kawi.[8D]

Like u said u still got a dirt bike which is good...so I'd opt for a decent street machine..here are a couple of Kawis both are 900 Vulcans, one is a custom the other a classic, subtle differences in the two..
The KLR would be a good choice too, if you plan on sticking to the pavement and dirt roads, but if you think you'd like to take a day long road trip, then I think the cruisers are a better choice.

Going two up on either of these bikes will be a challenge. Not enough power or suspension on the klx and the sport bike ergos are tough for two up. Throw a 75 pound sandbag on your back and start doing push ups to get an idea of what the sport bike will be like. Either bike will do it but in my mind not safely or comfortably. I have a klx and a ZX10R ninja, rode two up on both, and wouldn't recommend either for that type of riding. Look at a KLR 650, SV650, Versys or something along those lines.

deej i couldent agree with you more. Ive told him that he should at least getthe KLR650. Im actually considering getting one myself. It just seems like a great bike to still stay true to the soul. I think that he really just wants a street bike. But Why??? Its so much more fun ridingon the dirt. I could go on and on forever about y not to get a sport bike, i mean at least get a cruiser, but thats just me. Well you know how I feel and thats all ill say.

I'd recommend the ZZR600/ZX6R if you want a 600.
This year they come in two colors.
Ihave an '05 ZZR1200 andan '07 ZZR600.
I love the 'lil ZZR.
It's the exact same bike that used to be the 00' ZX6R.
Kawasaki just rebadged it.
Go here (my other home) and ask around.

Ok I'll chime in
A used ktm 640 Adventure should do the trick
Cheaper than a new klr, kicks it's **** on or off-road, plus ya could get a sxc tank and faring for it and it would be able to convert to a real 640 dirt bike ...... an smoke a xr650r ... lol.
