I have used the Powermadd Star series for the past couple of years and they fit very well and I have yet to damage any levers or fingers

Moose Racing, $39 with plastics. You will have to drill the handlebar end plugs and tap in the treads for the bolts. I have banged into many trees with these things and found them to be indestructible! Note that they want you to drill through the aluminum to secure the plastics with the provided screws. Don't drill. I drilled holes in the plastics and used zip ties to secure them to the brackets. When you hit something hard the zip tie will break allowing the plastic to move and not break. Also, the brackets are stronger if you don't drill holes. I have them on my wife's bike as well.

Highway Dirtbike. Expensive but I have lost count of times falling over and 30mph crashes on and off road. Get a cycle rack for the rear and the bike will be darn near indestructible.
