I took off one of my stock mirrors and placed it right where the dual-star mirror mounts to see what kind of view I would have. I couldn't see much behind me as my body and arm were creating huge blind spots. How can that be safe???
I can see pretty well with the mirror. It is slightly convex and I can see the lane directly behind me and the lane to my left. I had a bar end mirror on my street bike and could see really well with it too.

I'll have to check them out some time if we ever meet. We're not too far from each other. Maybe some time up at Red River.

They work just fine as long as you're not fat. A bit buzzy at some speeds, but I just lay my thumb on the mirror to dampen it a little.

By the way, where are you? Vurtle and I go to RR fairly regular.

These are small with a very low profile and made from carbon fiber:

I took the stock mirrors and added more thread to the mountingstems with a 10MM thread die. Then I cut off about 1-1/4 or so of the remaining thread and re-installed the mirrors. It lowers the mirrors nicely and no blind spots.

Red River sounds like a good idea. My bike is at the shop getting the fork seals replaced under warranty and they said it will be about two weeks before I get it back though.

I found these mirrors on another forum but do not know the brand. I like the mount more than the Dual Star. Anyone know who makes them??
