Need better tires now !

I've been riding on a Dunlop Geomax MX51F on the front of my Yamaha XT225 for about 400 miles, now, and I ride on mostly hardpack covered in talcum powder or rocks. This tire doesn't do all that well on that type of terrain, but every once in awhile I get to make a turn in real dirt and this tire really bites into the dirt when layed over. It has agressive lugs out on the sides of the tire. . . . HOWEVER, it really wants to climb out of sunken singletrack. I've nearly crashed a number of times because of this tendency!
So, if you get to ride loamy dirt, this new-to-the-market tire will probably work very well for you, but I don't recommend it for narrow, sunken singletrack. After 400 miles of off-road riding, I'd say that it is about one-third worn. . . . . your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the info, I'll also look into that D908F for the front. Still not sure on the rear. I've been running the front and rear at 14 psi with rim locks, I'll go a little lower.
Anyone have any thoughts on that knobby knife. Looks like I could finish the year if I could freshen my *****......that sounded weird !
