I'll second what ahnh is saying. The KLX is a cold-blooded starter. Without first ensuring you've got good compression (valve clearance & KACR check), and making sure you are getting an adequate rich fuel mixture (drill the starter jet out to .018"), you'd be able to run down a car battery cranking an KLX on a cold morning.
I'd recommend double checking these items before buying a new battery.
