Default New version!

Ok!!

I understand! It was kind of ugly but cheap!

Here is the new setup with a little plate weld on the rack. A nut is also weld on the plate. Et voilà!

Now what do you think of that??

bye
Eric

I love the look of the MSR bottles strapped to the sides like that!! Looks like the JATO bottles (rockets) we used to use on the C-130's back before engineers realized how stressful it is on the airframes!

Yeah, I bough a couple bottles and started looking around to figure out where to mount them and that spot on the side panels seemed perfect. I can carry another one on the handlebars and one in my camelback if I think I need it. The only problem with having the mounts there is I have to keep the bottles in them even if I'm not using them because I'm scared of them cutting the back of my leg in an unplanned get off. I would have to get WaYYY back for that to happen, but you never know. I guess I could get another set of side panels but I haven't bothered yet.

Wow, this rack is a real improvement over the first one. Good ideas.

I was looking at the MSR bottles, but rejected this idea when I saw the price. The one litre bottles are about $30 Cdn up here. Thats a lot. I would still pick up two of these bottles and mount them in a similar fashion to yours if I could find them a bit cheaper.

I tried two one litre water bottles, but the screw tops would not seal tight enough to prevent leakage.
