A year ago, there were basically 2-3 choices: Big Gun,a KLX300 exhaust, or Muzzy (Please note they're inalphabetic order!!!)
It seems there's more choice today, so instead maybe people can choose what kind of performance gains they're looking for e.g. overall horsepower increase mostly at the top-end, or better low-end grunt. I'm pleased with my purchase, but more choice is always better.
BTW - VFR: If you read the Big Gun warranty, it basically states that it won't fall apart if you just leave it sitting on the shelf. The warranty is void if you actually install and run it on your bike, though. If you just install it, but don't run it, then you're obligated to polish it every few months with Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish. ("IF YOU DO NOT USE MOTHERS MAG & ALUMINUM POLISH, YOU WILL VOID YOUR COATING WARRANTY!!"). Sheesh!

Does Big Gun own controlling interest in Mothers?
I'm finding that the entire world is looking for a loop whole to get out of accepting any liability for their products. [sm=headbang.gif]

The infamous bad genes associated with the Big Gun name have surfaced yet again, only now it's with their latest mutation the'Evo X' series. I guess they can fool enough people to keep peddling their inferior products by periodically changing the model name and shape. What a racket!

Yep, and it's because they know they don't have a quality product to stand behind.

then you state that since your pipe is titanium, (which we could all care less) that you get 4 horse compared to only 2 with a cheap slip-on. please dude. your propaganda may work over there in the crowd, but us guys still in America know better and most on here are just nice to you when you spout your japanese propaganda. this is how toyota and honda became the "benchmarks" in mid-size sedans- buyers listening to the likes of you. fortuneately ford has put both honda and toyota on the trailer this year in that class.
you can say what you want about BigGun and their EvoX series pipe, but us owners know better. there has only been one dyno documentation on here about which pipe makes the most power on a stock 250, and thatwas theEvoX BigGun. it is also documented all over here about how the BG fits alot better than the other pipes. vibrated screws out the back is no big deal as this is something that needs locktited or checked periodically. ceramic coating coming off is unfortuneately unacceptable but thankfully there has only been one instance of this happening. over here we like to take our bikes off-road and sometimes we get them muddy or even beat up. with an expensive system like yours I understand why it's a concrete queen. frankly, i think your setup is a bit weird and gaudy but thankfully it's not my bike.

RE: My opinion on exhausts....
What throws up a flag in my head iowa, is that there is what 500 miles on your bike? All you know about the big gun is how it fits, imo... you dont have enough miles/time on to see if its a quality product or not.... my bike has 5440miles on it, and probaly at least 3500 miles through the exhaust... and i am not happy with the coating on the headpipe, and the muffler. The entire exhaust looks like its dirty, but its the surface of the pipe, its all screwed up.... the only thing that doesnt look like crap ,imo, is the muffler it self, excluding the cap where the exhaust pipe goes into the muffler. that is messed up too... Now, after so many miles on the bike, i wish i would have a stainless header, or even the stock one.. but ispent too much to just take it off cause it looks bad... If you have run the bike as many miles as i have i dont think you would be so Big Gun crazy... but only 500 miles, come on now... I put 500 miles on my bike in FL on that weekend...
