Scat has a BG and it is very quiet. My Muzzy is so freaking loud that Scat stayed back a 1/4 mile due to impending deafness. I have built a restrictive insert that reduce the exhaust to 1" dia. The pipe is still loud, but more city friendly. More of a sport bike sound, and it pops up second much better. My $.02

Hey Tony I'll get back to you on the Odessa ride, but I had a question for you or anyone here. Has anyone re-packed the Muzzy yet? If so what do I order for it, and is there a writeup somewhere on how to change the packing. Mine is pretty loud too, and in a small town I don't mind the attention, but for the right reason. Any thoughts? I might just go to the Muzzy site and see what is recommended. Maybe exhaust packing from different manufacturers can be used, I don't pretend to know about it, that's where you guys come in.

Ok here's the deal, and I'm sure I'm going to get different opinions on it, but I just called the dealer and he told me that a brand new Muzzy should go 8,000-10,000 miles!!!!!!, without re-packing unless you got water down there, and he said a lot of water. So that's good enough for me, he's a good parts guy and also rides and races, and if he didn't think he needed to sell me the stuff that in itself in a good indicator that he's right. So that's good enough for me. As you were gents.

I haven't repacked, but I did buy the kit to do so. Call up Muzzy directly and ask for a repack kit for your exhaust type. The includes the packing as well as the rivots. I asked the Muzzy guy and he said a standard rivot tool will work fine, no need for a fancy hydrolic rivoter.

I'm assuming you just drill out the old rivots, take the pipe apart, remove the old packing, insert the new, and rivot it back together. Sounds easy, huh? What could go wrong? (famous last words ) "Hold my beer and watch this ..."

I know there are a few sound clips of different muffler's and pipes, but i was wondering how true the sound is,
with different cameras making the recording's and we all have different speakers on the computer's,
i know mine sound's deeper in Pearson than on my sound clip ,
i don't think i would make a decision on the sound alone, i say shop around look at the quality ,do your research.
you are the only one that has to be happy no one else.

my opinion....i won't buy another big gun. i just think for $400+ the header coating should hold up better and nuts and bolts shouldn't fall out. or at least maybe big gun should write something in their instructions about checking the bolts every so many hours or something similar. i like the sound and the fit. but the finish could be better
