Talking My new KLX

Hey guys, just picked my new bike 2 days ago, first thing I had to do was chop that rear fender, took it for a rip through the trails yesterday, and will be doing some mods right away to suit my needs.
First thing I noticed was the tires, as I will be riding 80% trails I'll need better suited knobbies, and being on the heavier side will defenetely need more power on bottom end. The reason for this purchase as opposed to something bigger is the fact that I love the look of this bike, plus my height (5'5) limits me to this size in order to be comfortable.
Taking it in tomorrow for tires, 13t sprocket, and ordering FMF exhaust and jets etc. I also noticed the little hiccup at 6500-7000 rpm, and glad I read about the rectifier ground on this forum, hopefully my dealer will do that mod for me under warranty.
Ed

Ps trying to upload photo from iPad, need help!

Congrats on the new bike. You definitely are on the right forum.

klxrelic did a really nice tutorial on posting pics. Answers to many of the questions you will have can be found by using the search function. I just looked up relics pic post using the search https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ng-pics-37982/

I use photobucket and it is super easy. Have fun!

Thanks,
i got the bike back with all the mods, and the dealer did the rectifier ground wire which got rid of the flat spot.
there is a noticeable power increase, took it through the trails twice and it feels like a totally diferent bike especially tirewise.
here are some pics of the bike before and after the mods.

Nice!!! Which tires did you put on it? They look a little like the Kenda Trackmasters I just put on mine. Are yours DOT tires?

Thanks guys......... Yes I think the black plastic adds to the bike, however, I like the look of the silver frames as they give it the aluminum look.

Rgoers...... Yes it's a dot Trackmaster in the rear, and a Scorpion Midhard up front, the shop I deal with suggested this as one of the better combos for this bike and the riding i do. Offload they are great, that front scorpion really grips the corners well, however it is kinda squirrelly on the road at speeds over 60 mph. I guess that's why it's a dirt tire.

Nice looking bike. Anyone know ofhand if the forkguards from the 09+ bikes fit on our older 06/07 bikes?

I'm pretty sure they fit the lug pattern cause Kawi's too dang cheap to change that, but wonder if they're long enough to cover our longer lower forks.
