Default My mods!

Hi all, my bike is going to the dealer next week for jetting. With what I read here I think that this set-up would be good:

2007 KLX250S
200 feet asl
KDX snorkel
UNI air filter
2 bros. slip on
125 main jet (kawi parts)
N1TC needle 2nd notch from top with collar on top of the clip
Drill slide 7/64
a/f screw 2,5 turns out

Anything else or should it be fine like that?
Thanks!

Default Why

Hey Frog,

Why take it to the dealer? Your settings are exactly like mine. I did it myself in 1 evening. A pc of cake. I would recommend a 128 main as i have the 125 and am at 1800 ft in elevation and an 01 OE 300 exhaust system. It runs perfect but would be better w/128 at you elevation.

do it yourself and enjoy the learning experience.(save the money as well)

X2

I've never touched a carb in my life, but I swapped needle/jet in my KLX. It took me about 2hrs (if that) and it went perfect/ran perfect first shot.

Then the other day I took the carb out again to try a different jet - this time the swap took me all of 40 mins or so.

You don't need to pay to have someone do it. Tools needed - philip screwdriver, 8mm socket, 10mm socket (maybe not, can't rememebr) and a flat head screwdriver.

Doooo it.

Hey Larry, do you take the carb out or you just loosen it and work in place?

I was running the 132 (FMF kit) jet, FMF needle, 2.5 turns, stock pilot.

It ran good, but every once in a great while I'd get a real quick stumble. After reading countless threads, it seemed as I should be using the 128 - so that's what I switched it down to. No stumbling anymore!

Frog - I take the carb out for the jet swaps. I don't think you can twist it enough without taking it out... I was able to twist it enough to adjust the A/F screw though without removing the whole thing..

Mine is the dynojet kit for the 300. 132 and 40 with no lid, full Muzzy and I don't really know the other tweaks on the carb since I didn't do the work. All I know is 8000+ miles and its never given me a bit of trouble.

let me throw in a question:

07 KLX 250
> FMF complete system
> KDX Snorkel
> K&N Filter

Bought the 300 dynojet kit, comes with
four mainjets, 120 124 128 132.

Which one would be the right jet for me,
any recommendations on needle position?

Remove smog stuff?

Edit: What do i see here :O ... can i use this as a reference
to my 07 bike??
