My KLX 250 (turned 351) SF experience.....

How do you know they are in spec unless you check? If you have to check yours, and I have to check mine..... We'll what's the differance? I do them on both bikes (as I own an '09 KLX, and an '05 KTM450) The KW SS Valves don't move like the factory Ti ones do. Simply put (and feel free to call BS all you like)- I will never put twenty thousand miles on my KLX- or the KTM for that matter. Neither would I ever care to. There are better suited bikes for me to put lotsa miles on. My '04 R1100s had just shy of 60k on it when I sold it. 60k on my KLX would mean about 45 rear tires
The KTM is also faster and easier to adjust if needed. Comparing the two won't work out for either party. I own both.......

Ok, so I just saw this post on Dirt Bike World (http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/s...t=67642&page=2), and I take back what I said about aluminium frames. Seems the 2010 YZF is having some frame cracking issues. Looking at the discussion steel is the way to go :-)

Really the KLX is a reliable thumper. No a racer. KTM is the biggest power/reliability per dollar. If you want straight reliability, then this is the bike. You can add an ignition, cams, headwork, exhaust blah blah blah. But you still wont have anything but a guzzling fart machine with <35 hp. So yeah get something else. Im taking off all the mods i did to my bike this winter to save gas money like i was supposed to.
