Help with KLX 250 Mods (Fuel Injected)
Hey guys, new to the forum here and new to biking all together. I wanted to try something new in my life after my hobby of music production turned into a full time job. Ive always enjoyed Go Karting, Quad Bikes, Driving, anything fast and fun and getting a Dirt Bike seemed a really good idea. Ive just passed my Compulsory Bike Training test today and i plan on doing my full licence in the next month so i can make use of the dual sport that my chosen bike has. For now il just use the bike off road.
There was so many options available it was hard to settle on a bike. However, after many many hours of research on 250 CC bikes i decided to go for the KLX250S. Im happy with my choice and i got a brand new 2013 Fuel Injected KLX 250 with a 2 year guarantee for £3699.
Ive always loved modding my cars and i knew i would be the same with a bike. I was surprised when i came to learn how essential modding the KLX 250 is to getting its full potential. Most of the mods are affordable (within reason) so i think it will be good fun doing up my bike.
Anyway here is a little of things i plan on doing and i wondered if it would be ok to get any advice regarding any aspect of my planned mods from you guys. Any advice or what not would be greatly appreciated
Planned mods
Big Gun Evo R Slip On
Remove Airbox lid (or maybe just the snorkel)
Dynojet Kit
Derestrict - super-simple way to derestrict Kawa 250 single (?) - Touring Forums | GT-Rider)
13 tooth front sprocket
Acerbis handguards
Edge 2 Taillight Kit
Im hoping that this will be enough to change the bike into a beast haha.
Does anyone have any feedback on my planned mods, suggestions or anything like that. As i say excuse the noob questions but this is all new to me and as much as i have researched everything, its always good to get some feedback from people with more experience.
PS - has anyone done the derestriction mod ? If so does that mean you have to hold the clutch in when starting the bike ? Does it make much of a difference and do you need to get it re jetted after you do this ?
Thanks guys

Welcome, your going to find a lot of cool info about your FI KLX in here..
The FI members will steer you in all the right directions..
Now to start you off - you'll not need a Dynojet carb kit for your FI bike..

No, but the members with FI will have to help you fuel your bike more correctly as well as a few other necessary mods. You may want to do a little research in here and perhaps "do up" a new thread asking for ideas for an FI KLX..
