Default My Carb Is On It's Way!

I just checked the tracking information and my carb will be delivered to the shop that is reworking it for me today. I might even get it in this weekend! I have another weekend off due to car shows, so I can get the little KLX all set up and ready for the riding season.

Down here in Florida, my off road riding season really starts about October, but I don't like to go riding in the woods during hunting season. I like to share the woods and not bother the hunters. Besides they have guns and I never argue with someone that has a gun in their hands. In January, the regular hunting season is over and that's when I'm riding all the time. It's nice for riding then, the temps are in the mid 60's during the day and that is when riding is ideal.

Besides, we have "Tour de Apalachicola" happening in January and I'm looking to have my KLX250 flying by then. I know of a few other KLX's that will be joining in the fun and there might be an impromptu sand drag race or 12! [sm=bounceybounce.gif] Of course Klxstiffler will have to carry some extra weight as he is about as light as a feather! But we'll have some fun and enjoy the riding up there together.

Hopefully there will be more to follow - and soon!

Marty,

What carb did you get? More importantly, what is being done to "rework" it?

I've been thinking about a Mikuni TM34, and am curious about how difficult the conversion would be, or even if that is the right size for what I want to do. I am going to up the engine to the 78mm cylinder, maybe keep the old carb, maybe not...

Warski,

Over on another forum I ran into a fellow that had done the conversion to the Mikuni TM33 carb that is used on the 1993 / 1994 Suzuki DR350E. He offered to mod my carb.

He makes the carb into a 34 mm carb, same as the stocker. Then he jets it and tweaks it for my altitude - 75 feet above sea level - and will send it to me.

Once I get it and try it out, I will ask him if I can distribute his name so y'all can get the carb done by him.

I bought my carb from RonAyers.com. The part number is 13200-14D03 and the price is $263.40.

Hope this helps.
