My build up klx351
well i finally got the bike finished... well for now
i have build my bike up for the past year now and i am finally happy with it. most of the work i have done myself with only the last stint being done at the bike store dude to work and not have a work shop full of tools.
when i first purchased this bike it was my everywhere transport rain, hail or shine. since then i have purchased a ute (pick up to those who drive one the wrong side of the road) and a gsx750 so it is contained to the bush or the ride to the bush so it has been set up for that.
what i have is a 1999 klx 250 aus spec bike.
modifications in order of appearance
Free mods
Pirelli MT21's front and rear(hard compound but last longer)
ego bark busters with triple tree clamp
custom seat
full stain tune system
TM33 pumper carby
bill's 351 kit
H/D clutch + springs ( good rich)
front and rear springs set up for my weight + extra fuel (re oil/gas)
on the wish list
port and polish head with new valves
new cams
race timing chain
klx450
dyno to do estimate 30-35 rwhp
PICS TO COME
So why did i do it?
i did it because it is what i wanted.
i wanted somthing that was light and tall yet power full.
i can keep up with 2 strokes in single trace and keep up with big bore bikes on the open stuff.
alot of high powered bikes out there are uncomfortable. i love the lounge that is on it now and is admired but most of my friends who ride with me.
only negative is that im having problems with hot stalling in the bush on hot days 35C + days.

+1 what NorthRider said, add another rad fan and have it on a manual switch so you can cool it down when needed. It seems like the engine needs to be very hot to have the fan come on. I have yet to have my fan come on even riding hard in hot conditions!

you might want to try one of those hot starts they have. does something with cooler air into the carb to help with the hot starts. and i have to second the sumo rims. this thread is useless without pictures by the way .
