From the looks of that pic that bear looks focused. That's a pretty good sign to haul a** out of there.

Too many tags. You should invest in a lifetime license permit. Set me back $775, but I'm good for life. And this includes fishing & hunting.

I too am originally from Pennsylvania, but in my case, its North Eastern Pennsylvania, about 40 miles East of Scranton, near N.Y. state, Shohola to be exact. Back in the mid 80s, I was riding my Honda XL600r on this dirt-road, (Little Walker Road), with only a handful of homes scattered over about a 5 mile distance. I was on my way home from a buddy's house. It was just getting dark, and I was very careful because this was "deer-time". I was only riding at about 25 miles per hour, (normally would haul *** down the road at about 70 mph). Suddenly, about 100 feet in front of me, I saw what looked like dark furry jello crossing the road at a slow gallop. It was a pretty good sized black bear. It felt like the veins were going to pop out of my head, my heart was just a pounding. It was pretty darn close to being hit by me and my bike. I never slowed down, or sped up, just stayed at the same speed, but damn it shook me up. I mean if the bear was a large female, she could've had cubs with her. Thats all I kept thinking about. What if one of the bear's cubs literally ran into me, following it's mother. I was not scared of being attacked, but was deathly afraid of hitting a cub, or being hit by a cub. Then, I would be afraid of a bear attack, since I would be laying there struggling to get up and out of there, while a wounded cub lays next to me screaming. Yes, dusk and dawn are scarey times to ride a bike in the woods, especially in white tail deer/black bear country. When out on trails, far from civilization, one should always ride with a buddy. I'm serious.
