my backyard ride
I saw an ATV headed down the road from my house last week and noticed he headed into some really old trails I had ridden once when I was much younger that I had thought had overgrown by now. This sparked my curiousity to see if these trails actually still went anywhere....and since they were only a couple minutes down the road from my house I couldn't resist to head there today when the temperatures reached 8 degrees Celsius. Here are a few pics I took along my travels......note: I hadn't been on the KLX in well over a month, let alone on any single track trails so I had lots of oppurtunities to take pics.
before leaving the yard...
first obstacle..but found the alternate route around it....
woodpecker watching me as I took a break after dumping the KLX 3/4s of the way up the hill.....
heres the route around the nasty stuff...still a challenge...
surprise hole on turn ...
and then this right after avoiding the sink hole....
looking back after standing the bike back up and a much needed rest.....
someone else had bad luck here also....
finally on some more familiar trails.....
no shortage of water and ice either....
an old bridge I built many of these for the ATVs to cross the brooks in winter when the banks got too icy .......
this is a plce frequented by many who live around my town and own ATVs or 3-wheelers or ski-doos...we call it the "Duck Pond"...its a blast in winter when its frozen....
and finally at my Dad's...taking the easy road back from here....
a well deserved supper awaits me....

The mirror broke on this trip...the front washed out near the top of the hill in the photos...I never thought to take a pic of the bike laying down...although I lots of time to do that. It must've taken me a good 20 mins to get it upright again as the handlebars were just ahead of a clump of trees but not far enuf to allow me to stand on the low side to pick it up.I think I ended up dragging the bike up the hill just far enuf to get between the handlebars and the trees to stand it up. It was hard to pull the bike the hill even a little bit...lol Thats when I took the pics of the wood-pecker nearby.
Oh and thats ketchup on the dog...lol...catalina on the salad. BBq'd pork chops and a Sleemans...it was awesome after that ride.
