Default my 351 first bush bash

i popped my 351 kit's cherry the other day at a place called zig zag rail way. located 1.5 hours west of sydney, nsw, Australia.

i thought i should change the batteries in my camera and i was right... to bad i didn't.

the new bore has simlar power to the drz400e. i wish i could sow you the drag race but as i said flat batteries in the camera.

what i did get was the first 10mins of the ride

the main event of the day.

the steepest rockiest hard hill climb i had ever done. the first bit (shown in the next link) had a 3 foot steep at the start followed by several rock lips ad bumps.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXA6Nq4r6H0

after the vid.

a little pinch with rock lips all over it, trying to loop the bike out from you.

the final bit.

even steeper than the lower part of the hill. rock step almost caught me out forcing me to hit the kill switch before i fliped. 2nd run, impossible to get more speed as the hill is covered in ball bearing rocks. hit the last lip front wheel in the, i throttled down and gased it again and bam... bike up side down and landing on my ankle. ouch! nice bruise from it. i think i might buy better boots.

Sweet.
Sounds good as well.

The camera never shows just how steep a hill is but even so, that looked a challenge.

Gotta love a challenge.

Rocks are such a blast to ride.
Only one way to do them,
Wide Open Baby, and hang on for the ride !!

Bike sounds great! As 42 says, momentum is king on stuff like that, gotta keep the speed up - need higher gearing, not lower.

Yep, gotta have speed when it comes to hill climbing. I found that lesson out the hard way. Nothing sucks more than getting stuck in the middle of the hill with the rear tire dug in.

Tahnks for the video. Bike sounds great!

I thinking about getting the 350 kit and the Pumper carb combo.
Did you do the combo at the same time or one then the other?

Soooo... do ya like it?
Is it worth the cash?

Thanks

yea, but that hill was so steep i was slipping the clutch the hole thing. lower gearing allows you to move slower with out slipping the clutch. you can always shift up a gear with low gears but u cant shift down with high gears.

the hill was impossible to gain speed. there were ball bearing rocks and then large rocks cause the wheel to slip and then grab. very hard to keep the front down.

ill probs go back there and do the hill.
