Muzzy status
Great news - just got confirmation that my Muzzy should be here on Friday. Normally I'd be a little leary, but I have a tracking number and everything . So it looks like Muzzy has ramped up their production to meet the demand. Other with Muzzy back orders should start seeing some movement now too.

RE: Muzzy status
I can't imagine waiting that long for any exhaust. cancel and order the big gun, i think you'll be extremely happy when you finally twist that throttle and don't have to remove your passenger footpegs. imo, it's head and shoulders above the muzzy. i've owned muzzy systems before, none have compared to this big gun for seat of the pants. muzzy's build quality imo is questionable. i've had to send 2 systems back for various rattling and fit problems. jmo.

I know you like your Big Gun, Iowaguy, you've said so a number of times. But there were several factors for why I chose the Muzzy over the Big Gun. It wasn't an easy choice, but I weighed the points that were most important to me and made my decision. I was willing to wait a little longer to get the system I wanted. Just try and understand that personal preferences are a big factor and the selection criteria that is most important to you may not be the same as for others.

Yes tracking # alone is satisfaction,
Even if mine is sitting at www.sabinperformance.com on Friday, I'll be put off till after hours or tuesday, since Jim & I are on the barter system. I do his website & he does my dyno runs and allows me to access of his shop.
He mention something about the cool air return and the crankcase vent blah blah blah - that's the thing. I come to him with all this forum knowledge and it pushes him into totally ignoring my ramble and makin that green meanie work better than I imagined.
I'll be takin pics w/Nikon D2X on tripod w/extension of anything that hasn't been mentioned on these forums, just in case Jim spits out a real performance hairball with the green meanie.
Later,
Rustin

WOW - like a whole new bike
It was worth the wait. Now I just can't seem to wipe this grin off my face Nice low throaty sound at low RPM and really opens up when you lay on some throttle - it's perfect. I really like the looks, too. Now I can actually hear the bike over the wind in my helmet!
I love it - the Muzzy is highly recommended for this bike.
I think my bike is pretty much complete now w/regard to the major stuff. It has come a long way since the stocker I bought late January. I still have a few smaller things in the queue though like the skid plate on order (back order) and I've got a shorty clutch and mount on the way. I'm considering one of the bright xenon head lamps, but haven't made up my mind about that yet. But the Muzzy completes the list of "must have" parts and mods. -Cheers

RE: WOW - like a whole new bike
Nobrakes,
Now that you have this big, toothy grin on your face, let me know how you really like the Muzzy!
I am assuming that you had all the mods - jetting, needle, snorkle, muffler drilled, slide drilled that we've been talking about. Is there a discernable difference between the stock and the Muzzy exhaust?
Be a rider, not a salesman!
I'm saving my $$$'s up at this time, and if it's really that good, I'll send off for one.
Thanks.

RE: WOW - like a whole new bike
I went for a pretty good ride after getting it on, remembering others that said that it was very loud when they first got it but after running it for a few hours it allows the packing to expand and settle into its groove. So that's what I did - some off road and some on-road.
So first, I did already have all the standard recommended mods:
Carb:
* #125 main jet
* N1TC needle w/clip on 2nd ring
* air mixture screw out 2.5 turns
* slide vent drilled to 7/64's
Air Box:
* high flow KDX200 snorkel
* crank case vent port drilled to 3/8's
Stock Pipe:
* 1/2" drilled through first baffle
So, when I did all those, there was a very noticable difference - the throttle response was so much better, and it seems to make a lot more power as I found that when I would gear down before to pull out of a turn or something, I'd now just lay on some more throttle and it would power out of it without any shifting. That was great - very noticable.
I can't say the same thing about the new exhaust. I'm trying to be objective and not let the improved (much much improved) voice influence me, but you know that is hard. When I was in the dirt, seems like the front end comes up a little higher a little quicker, but it's hard to say. This is where the Dyno is so important. I want to say the performance is better, but I'm not sure I trust myself because the bike just sounds so much better and badder that it might simply be that and might not be real.
My gut says its way better. My test ride says it might be a little better. Did it make as big of an improvement as the original free / low cost mods - definitely not. I'm not feeling that drastic difference like a felt after doing those mods. But the Dyno knows for sure - lets hope AdReNaLiN can come through with some truely objective Dyno charts.
