I think it was me. Actually I never said the K&N was no good - just let more dirt into the motor than other filters.

If you're running a race bike, the K&N filter will provide more power. As an ex-racer, I always was looking for that extra 1/100 th of a second. As a rider, on the street, I am looking for protection for my motor. Just simply, you're point of reference.

In the dirt, I run a Uni-Filter with the proper oil.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

I use the Uni Filter also, no complaints.

Congtats on the bikes Deej, now you'll have a motorcycle gang.

The K & N Part# KA 1287 will fit the 2006 KLX250S. I have one in my bike, you have to slide the filter in first, then place the cap on it. As for filtration it depends on who you talk to. Based on what I have read the filter is as good as a paper filter and using one does not void the warranty on any vehicle according to K and N's web site.
