Default MUFFLER vs HOLESAW

Anyone here know the diameter of the hole that I need to make in the stock 06 muffler that would be a little undersize so I could then finish it with a dremel. I want to sort of mimmic Wildcard's patented klacker pipe mod. I just don't want to end up on the other side of the baffle tube in his pic on my 1st attempt.

Start close to the pipe with a small drill bit, then insert a probe to get an idea of the diameter, it should be close to the same as the the front of the pipe.
I would make a series of small holes around the pipe, then cut/pry it out, then fold any excess in to clean it up.

editised:

for Mike- open klx250s- select "search this forum" enter "wildcard endcap" select "worth it to modify stock exhaust" scroll 4 down and click.

For me- thanks, if I don't get answer for hole size I'll buzz around it like you say and start going in small. The strawl is attached only to the metal that I will cut and remove correct??

Thanks.....Steve

Eric, did you fit a tip onto your klr muffler. If you did would that work on the 250 or be too big?

I did not put any kind of tip on it. The KLRs get a "tweet" sound to them, annoying as hell. Thats the only reason i did it. But looking at it you cant really tell anything has been done, looks fine.

Best pic i got.....

Search for Marcelino mods or threads in the sicky posts and elsewhere. He covered the holesaw mod.
