Is the muffler interchangeable between different model years?

Is the muffler interchangeable between different model years?

Hi all, I'm new here but have been riding green for a while. I am trying to restore my 2007 KLX250S to factory spec.
Do you know if the muffler from other years is compatible with this model year?

Thank you... I was asking because thought the model years the part number changes.
I was concerned the mounting tabs shifted about.

The R model mufflers are not the same as the DS and SM models
in that they have larger exits and different locations for mounting points.
