Default Which Muffler?

So I just bought a Hindle mid pipe adaptor which will allow me to run a universal muffler that has a 2" inlet and approximately 14" to 16" muffler length. I'm looking for a little louder than stock, nothing to annoy people and neighbours. Longevity is important and would like to keep the cost under $200. Suggestions?

Just as a second thought. I have a KLX300 head pipe as well. Would the KX450 stock muffler fit on a 08 KLX250 with that header pipe?

Years ago, Supertrap made a universal muffler called IDS.
Internal discs, clean looking with a turndown tip. Might be ideal, if you can find one.
I put one on my SRX, still happy with it.

I did a search and they make the IDS2 now but at over $300 it's not going to happen. Cool muffler though. Even the used ones on ebay are fetching $200.

Yeah, I looked after posting and saw that.
Unfortunate.

No worries, who would have thought a Supertrap slip on would run I over $300. Must be a hell of a muffler!

I'm a fan of the FMF Q4 with quiet core. I found mine gently used on ebay or here and sold the loud HMF the same way.

Hi Ruggybuggy, I saw that hindle midpipe and almost grabbed it myself, but I wasnt sure what mufflers would easily match up to the two inch hindle. I have used gsxr 650 and titaniium gsxr 1000 mufflers on Suzuki DR650s. They are the sweet setup for a DR using a 2 bros or hindle midpipe, but they look too big for the klx. Have you seen greenmonstas swap meet muffler post? https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...muffler-39282/

Thanks for the link. That's one BIG muffler. When I went to install the Hindle midpipe it didn't fit my KLX250. It was too big. The seller refunded my money and told me to just keep the pipe. I do have a KLX300 head pipe that I ordered and I suspect it will fit that pipe.

The ever increasingly hard to find KLX300 muffler is the right mix of sound and flow IMHO, if you can find one.
You already have the header.
Other KLX300 aftermarket pipes are open to you as well. Though also increasingly hard to find.

I did manage to find the 300 muffler as well right after I found out the Hindle midpipe wasn't going to work. The Ebay seller had it listed as a silencer so It didnt draw any attention.
