MSD Single Cylinder Programmable CDI #4217

At any rate. The only question i have left before i pull the trigger on this is how much timing i actually can apply. im going to check the service manual and the parts breakdown on the crank triggers. If the japs can plug n play a box for 35 degrees then there is room for it. the old klx's ran 40 degrees.
as far as high performance and someones 15 degrees. uh. My civic si runs 33 degrees total timing WOT. its an 08 and revs out to 10k. runs pumps gas. puts out 236 whp, gets 40-45 mpg regular driving.

Not sure what you're trying to say, but what your car runs for timing means nothing.

Well i bought it should be here tommorrow.
My jetting is going to be 132 main and needle 4th clip for starters.
the only thing i could see being a factor, is the crank trigger (degrees) of total timing. being that other people are running jap cdis with 35 deg shouldnt be problem. I dont see kawi changin flywheel pickup for a us model. i see they changed the cdi but whatever. i should not have a voltage or current problem.
My setup may be all around timing change or i may make a trigger for WOT conditions, the cdi is setup to change maps on the fly with a trigger switch.
Im going to start the bike with the stock mapping first to see if it works, then ill bump the timing 5 degrees at a time. i would like to get to a dyno and check my afr and hp. we will see.
