Mr. 2009 has left the building???
And Mr. Psycho has entered. Well, as a lot of you know I have been on here saying that I am planning on buying a new '09. And Ido/had intend (ed) to do just that and still may. But tbh, I am just so darn tired of waiting around for this bike. And the more I think about it, the more I hate the thought of losing that susp. travel and taller 6th as someone pointed outit has officiallybeen lowered. So putting a 13-toother on the new '09 will drive the rpms even higher than what an '06 or '07 would be spinning. Then there is the weight issue now published on their website, the bike is 15lbs. heavier. Less susp. travel and more weight is not good. Now I don't know if the new bike's revamped springs will even this out or not.
I am in lust with the new red color, killer digital dash with clock, new seat, and new headlight. But at the same time I want a bike now and have always loved the graphics on the '07 when it would include a green headlight shroud from the '06. I know where several brand new '07's are sitting at locally that I think I could get a pretty good deal on. The new bike is sharp but I have never liked the rear fender and the front is hard to swallow as well even though it is better than the rear. Regarding price, I don't know what new '07's have been bought for, but I would bet I could get an '07 for a grand less than a new '09. What have you '07 owners paid for your bikes brand new? What do you guys think, should I wait and spend the more money on the new bike or buy one asap and mod it up like my '06 that I've conceded many times on here that I regretted selling that bike.[&:]

RE: Mr. 2009 has left the building???
I just put a deposit on an 09 today...My local dealer is expecting to receive 4 bikes either this week or next. Despite looking around, there are no used bikes around. I was quoted $5800 Cdn for the 09. Unfortunately no 07's around to compare new prices with.
Either way, I'll be stoked to actually see one in real life. It's good talking here, but it doesn't compare to the real thing!
Gettin' excited.......the snow's melting!

hahah......you were soooo excited to get one of the '09's... thats funny.... honestly i dont think you would notice the 15lbs in the woods, and im sure there is always stuff you can take off to lighten it up... Just get an 07, that way you know that aftermarket parts fit, you will be waiting awhile for stuff on that 09

You could save alot of money on an '07 to possibly free up some cash for mods. I bough my '07 for $4100 last month. I'm not thrilled withthe white headlight shroud on the '07 either. Maybe the new '09 headlight and shroud will fit an '07

Yea but I heard a slightly lower suspension makes it more stable feeling on the track and trails. My wife's bike is at least 4 inches lower than my bike and I can drift round on the gravel like nobody's business. I don't feel as comfortable doing that on my bike. Something about being closer to the ground, Maybe less of a fall. [8D] Well whatever you decide, make sure its what you want, or this time next year you will be selling the 07 to get the 09. Just messing man you know that. Oh and glad to hear I'm not the only guy that watches American Idol.......Whew!!

I think you should wait for the new 09 to come out . Then when you take it for a test ride anddon't like as much as the 06-07 klx you can go buy that 07 with saving a grand or so and know you made the right choice.... Good Luck!

Funny how the bike got heavier but they took off the boat anchor of a rear rack? Or are they actually getting closer to the real weight of it? Ready to ride the 06-07's are @290 lbs per one member here who actually weighed their bike. The published dry weight is 277 lbs on the website for the 09.
