Talking

Greetings all. Im replying to this post for two reasons. One with my mpg with jetting and full pipe it really depends how you ride. I can get 70 if i ride easy. But if i dont care i can get 60 all the time.

The second reason for posting is to see if i can post from the Blackberry using the new forum. If you are in fact reading this it worked. However since the e-mail notification is not working yet i was wondering if a few of you good people could email me and let me know if it worked. Thanks. Here is my e-mail info. Either one will work

dkettel@u.washington.edu

dkettel@centurytel.net

P.S. I dont have google spellckeck so this e-mail is exempt.

Im running a full KLX300 exhaust with a 3/4" end opening, kdx snorkle, stock air filter and 40/128 jetting and yesterday I got 95mi until I hit reserve riding mostly main streets/ highway and some trail. Is it that you rev it up a bit more since you got your pipe? I know mine sounds cool around 7k =) I've also seen 30-40 mpg riding rough 1st gear trails from hell.

I'm at basically the same settings (125 main jet at the moment with 2 turns on the fuel screw and 2nd clip position on the needle).

Riding really hard on the street, I got a little over 62MPG. On stock jetting with the choked up exhaust and air box, I got 70MPG with "normal" riding and 100MPG if I babied it. Stock was way lean and it idles at 1K RPM when warm now so, it's jetted better even if it's not optimized yet.

My Bad....

I forgot and left my tank switch on reserve for a bit off the tank...I filled up again today after 75 miles of riding and got 67.6mpg...So the HMF pipe is getting me better mileage..50 of those miles were at 55-75mph...

With my mods, FSW header,FMF P-core IV pipe 128 main and twin air filter with no lid i can ride like an idiot on the street and it'll always land me about 60-67 mpg. With the clarke tank it gives me about 140 miles before i hit reserve....give or take a few miles....But about 140 is normal.I also found my bike makes it's best power by 8000 rpm so i have never really had a need to see higher than that.

I just filled up this morning, and I have my GPS logging everything so I'll get a REAL figure for you next fillup. I know that the stock speedo is off by a good chunk, so I'm guessing the ODO is as well. If so, then these numbers are all off..

My GPS logs trip miles as an ODO, I will run the tank out, and fill it up and do the calculations at the pump. I'll report back to base!!!

Test mule - 07 with full FMF, 128 jet, FMF needle, no airbox lid, and spirited driving .
