Move over Ewan McGregor
And the other Guy, you know, the one who's name we always forget.
Forget about you flash beee emmm uu GS's,
Now THIS is a tourer.
Ok, back to reality.
I fitted the Nomad 5.8 liter aux fuel tank and Dirt Bagz saddle bags tonight.
The fuel tank is plumbed in.
It came with it's own petcock but I chose to just use the KLX's stock fuel tank with the aux tank connected to the main petcock position, so fuel in it is consumed first, and the reserve petcock position is connected to the Clarke fuel tank.
Not ideal and I may change that a bit.
I'm planning on giving it a run in the dirt on Sunday.

Shame on you, neil...you should remember the name of the guy who could actually ride that huge " BMW land whale" and pop wheelies with ease while fully loaded...Charlie Boorman.
Seriously though, are you concerned about the weight on the subframe with that fuel back there?

That ought to give you some nice range.
Tell me about the Dirt-Bagz. Are they the Rangers or the Scouts? Do you have a pic of the Dirt Bagz racks without the bags on?
Thanks,
Ron

I'll keep an eye on the subframe.
it's mounted as close to the seat as possible and I have already removed some weight with no rack, tail extension and stock indicators.
I'm confident that it should take the 6kg's a full tank weighs.
I'll no more after a shake down ride.

These pics are before I fitted the Nomad tank so the indicators are now mounted differently.

I think you will have no problems with the sub frame as long as the tank doesn't flop up and down, when going through whoops especially as the bag braces look as if they will add support. I also think that with about 15 litres of fuel you should get a range of 400 km plus. I can pull 320 with some left with my acerbis tank I think westoz said about 24 kms/litre.
