Mounting a rifle to a KLX
#11
" Ha ha, no. I'm thinking for camping this summer. You can transport firearms as long as the gun is empty and the ammo is stored separately. So I wouldn't be doing anything illegal although I'm sure I'd get some strange looks."
I figured as much, but couldn't resist. Here in AZ I always carry (.45) when off road or back road, even hwy stuff. Because space is limited I store the ammo in the magazine in the gun! But of course if you're wanting to hunt that's different.

I have no advice to offer on how to mount a rifle to a KLX, but I did just want to chime in to say that I LOVE that this question got asked in the first place!
This issue would simply NEVER come up on any of the other forums I belong to for any of my other bikes. That fact somehow makes everything else seem so boring compared to the KLX!

I see farmers/irrigators regularly attaching a length of pvc pipe on the bike to carry a shovel. Attached low end near a peg and high end around the rear subframe. I once saw a hunter with rifle in scabbard mounted similarly, but didn't get a good enough look to offer any suggestions.

But seriously, what's the reason it wouldn't come up?

NcSTAR Tactical Shotgun Scabbard, **BLACK** | eBay
I have one in digital camo for my 12 gauge with a pisol grip. I know its a shotgun scabbard, not really meant for a rifle but its inexpensive, has many points which im sure you could find useful for tying it down. If your not wearing a pack, it comes with an adjustable shoulder strap. Undo the buckle at the bottom and it folds out and extra 4 inches if needed.

I just built a 12ga tactical shotgun...or at least putting it together as all the parts come in.
