Has anyone ever seen a rifle mount on a KLX?

No, but I saw a guy in the Moab area a few years ago on a KLR650 who had a rifle scabbard mounted to one of the fork legs with a 30-30 lever action rifle in it. I don't know if he fabricated hardware to make the leather scabbard fit, or if it was some kit. I know there are hard case scabbards made for ATV/UTV's and similar applications, but they appear too bulky IMO to make a clean install on a dirt bike. I'd bet you'll have to stick with leather or a ballistic nylon with a good homemade hardware attachment for it to work well. Have you done any searches for manufactured motorcycle rifle scabbards?

Not yet, was just thinking about it. I like the fork idea, might have to look into that. Barrel pointing down right?

Here's the one i was thinking of. I don't think I'd do much off roading with a gun mounted up there.

Thanks Dan, I wonder if he used a combination of a Ram mount and a rifle mount. I'd sure like to see him haul out that goat on his bike.

This oughta be good! Let's see Brien in Sacramento California riding around with a rifle, I'm thinkin a good possible "slot" on the evening news right! Hopefully you're thinking one of those "assault" types, AR15 at a minimum, that ought to draw a bit of attention. Might want to pick up a full face ski mask for the cooler winter temps, something in a nice camo. Me, I'd also add a couple of the biggest magazines I could find and strap those on somewhere as well. No really man, no one in Sacramento would likely take notice. ha ha

Ha ha, no. I'm thinking for camping this summer. You can transport firearms as long as the gun is empty and the ammo is stored separately. So I wouldn't be doing anything illegal although I'm sure I'd get some strange looks.

Watch The Rifleman... Actually I'm slightly serious. It wouldn't be too hard to work out a nylon/leather scabbard to mount up along the side, maybe pointing down, left side probably best due to the lack of bulge for the muffler. They do make kind of big honking plastic cases for ATVs, but they don't worry about being thin, running on the outside edge of the rear racks down the side outside the rider's leg.

Here is one I found at this site:

Price $115.

If you could get some of that plastic like dirt track stock car racers use for body parts, you could cut and fold a scabbard, line it with some appropriate material and pop rivet it together.

There ya go.
