Low-tech here... I use my automotive floor jack. It works well because I have a Ricochet skid plate (nice big flat surface).

I use my floor jack with a transmission adapter. Paid $29.99 at autozone about 4 years ago when the trans went out in my firebird. Works good for me!

I like the sounds of that. I have a nice aluminum floor jack already. I will look into that.

I bet I could make a nice cradle out of wood to attach to my floor jack.

If your jack has a large enough head, you don't need adapters. Mine is about 5" diameter. Hooks up with my skid plate real well, and keeps it amazingly stable.

OP, if you end up going the motorcycle jack route and end up finding a good deal, let me know. Same goes for a torque wrench.

I am going to play around with my jack first and see how it goes.

Default floor jack works well

you just need to secure the front wheel.
This works for me:

This would be okay for lubing the chain up or other small tasks but not sure I would trust it for something like a top end rebuild.

Exactly what I use this app for. I have a Sears motorcycle lift for other projects.
