I've seen numerous comments from folks with work done by MP on Thumpertalk and ADV and can't recall seeing a negative one in the bunch.

+1 on the thumbs-up for Moto Pro. I had him send a complete revalve and spring kit for my D-tracker that I had installed locally. John wouldn't sell me anything until we talked over the phone and he was sure of the exact set-up to suit my needs.

BIG improvement from the stock suspension, so if you're on a motard I'm here to tell ya he knows his sh*t on that as well.

I'm not too sure how they set up their spring calculator? but it doesn't work out for me. I'd say call and talk to someone. For example, same input KLXs vs. a 30lb lighter klx300, they have me using stiffer springs on the lighter bike? Also they advise .44 fork springs, yet I use .45's on my reworked crf250x forks, which is a ton lighter than the klx. So somehow they must factor the klxS as a foo foo bike that doesn't get ridden hard.

They also can get springs that aren't listed on the site, I have .49 fork and 6.4 rears inherited from the previous owner. The stock fork cannot control the rebound of heavy springs, I tried, even with 20w oil. You must rethink the internals if you set up that way. Something I'm working on.

Yeah, I think that's why John prefers you to talk with him over the phone before ordering. It may be what you say about the KLX being a dual sport wheras the 300R is strictly off road.

+1 on the fork rebound. We have a company here in Japan that takes the stock KLX fork and modifies them by creating a bonified rebound circuit complete with dampening adjustment. It's more money than I wanted to spend though.

I've found that recommened spring rates vary from one manufacture to another. Give John a call and he will set you up right.

yes, there's an allowable plus and minus factor in new springs. Why you might see one company has a .44 and another company sells the SAME spring as a .43 or .45. Only a few company build springs, wire diameters are standard, coil numbers are set by length and manufacture etc.

There can also difference in preload. I have some klx springs that are 18" and some that are 18.5 and install with more preload. Both are the same rate but the longer ones will ride a little taller in the travel.

I talked to John last week about getting stiffer springs for me and lowering a 250sf for the gf. Also found out he has an 09 250s in his shop right now and is working on getting all the dimensions and specifics of how Kawi lowered the 09 from the 07 height so he can sell us the undo kit. Put our 09's back up where they should be.
Overall I was very impressed and he will get some $ from me for sure.

However I was not to sure about the way he talked about lowering links like they were suspension kryptonite.

Heh, that '09 250 at Moto-Pro is mine

I'm looking forward to getting my bike back. I'm also glad I could bring him more business.
I'll write up a post once I pick it up.
