Highlights from yesterday's ride. Most of the footage is from my friend riding my 2009 KLX250s, starting with a steep section that he got a little stuck on. There's a neat little hill about 2:00 in, and me going over the handlebars right at the end:

We met a guy out on the trail with an older DR650. He said 'absolutely the wrong bike for these trails, but I just redid the front suspension and wanted to test it out'. Those things are something like 42HP and 355 Lbs or so. Most people on these trails are riding KTM, some Husaberg, Husqvarna - very, very few dual sport bikes. One guy I talked to sold his CRF250x and got a KTM 200XCW because the CRF (at 240lbs) was too heavy - the 200 is 210lbs dry...

When my son had his drz400s, he took it out on a few of the easier trails. We were both dirt newbies at the time, so it was a very slow ride. The DRZ had good suspension, but was a little tall for me, and a little bit heavier than the KLX.

Some clips from the ride yesterday - it was the annual "Route of all Evil Fun Ride" for the local motorcycle club. Over 130 riders showed up. We spent 4 hours riding 33KM of difficult trails.

A few of the good clips (like the first one, and the one going off the bridge) are my friend on his WR250R.

I just watched "rear admiral muzz". Awesome footage, great clarity, and excellent riding!

Thanks! I've got a ton of videos up on Youtube. A lot of them aren't too exciting (many of them are just documenting some of the trails, so other riders in the area can see a video of the trail to judge the difficulty level before riding it), but some are pretty interesting to watch.

Starting around 3:30 in this video is a pretty cool 'rock garden' uphill section:
