Wo you wrench good. A lot of the same things that I have looked at on my KLX, but have never been disciplined enough to do or to document.

It's fun and relaxing to "wrench".
Maybe someday I will take up knitting.

nice write-up but the engine cases are more important than the hoses. i'm not puttin you down at all cause i really enjoy your posts. But a decent skid plate is a "must have" item if your doing any offroad riding. your can replace a broken hose for pennies compared to a cracked engine case.

Interesting mod... Never thought about just how vulnerable those hoses are.

I suppose if I lived in places where there *were* those kinds of hazards, I'd probably put on a "bash" protector.
In Florida, we have alot of saw palmettos and plants with jagged edges and sand.
I've seenbranches "slice" across the hoses and wondered how I could protect them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saw_Palmetto
"Saw palmetto is a fan palm (Arecaceae tribe Corypheae), with the leaves with a bare petiole terminating in a rounded fan of about 20 leaflets. The petiole is armed with fine, sharp teeth or spines that give the species its common name."

Yes, understand your need to protect. They would cut your legs and arms pretty good too, fortunately they dont grow wild here.
You can see from the chipping on the frame on my bike how much loose stone gets flung around here. I think I may put on a big old fashioned mudflap hanging off the rear of the front mudguard.
