MOOSE 13-tooth front sprocket

RE: MOOSE 13-tooth front sprocket
I just posted a new part number under the Part Numbers thread (call me silly) for a Kimpex 13 tooth sprocket:
Kimpex #101006
It fits without needing a spacer/shim, and doesn't seem to increase noise.
My biggest problem was getting a sprocket in Canada. The Kimpex part is what my local dealer (Ottawa Goodtime Center) tracked down for me. Had it in 3 days and at a great price ($12 Cdn ... must be on clearance or something from the supplier.)
I agree that a larger sprocket in the back is a better long term configuration, so I'm planning to swap back to the stock 14 tooth sprocket when the OEM chain needs to be replaced.

RE: MOOSE 13-tooth front sprocket
Moose Racing confirmed their 13t socket is not the right fit for the KLX250S. The said they would inform Dennis Kirk. I haven't seen them take the product off their "fit list." Anyway, you can fabricate a spacer to fit between the sprocket and the crank case or you can order three (3) washers that are used to lock nut to the counter shaft. That's about the same tolerance needed. I think bike bandit sells them for about $3.50 per washer.

RE: MOOSE 13-tooth front sprocket
Hi Guys
I just got the counter sprocket for my klx250s. I got it from PBI sprockets. It was 23 and change. That is cost and shipping. It is the correct one, the splines and collar matches the factory sprocket. The part number is 453-13 C/S. It took him 2 days to get it to me.

I hope you guys are reading the first page of this thread where we discuss how denniskirk.com is wrong and that the correct sprocket for the KLX 250 is the one for the Honda XL650S. No need to modify one when you can buy the right one from denniskirk.com.
